Why Us
What Sets Us Apart
The Federation of NGO, Tamil Nadu was started to bring together NGO’s across Tamil Nadu to resolve their problems and provide them with the necessary assistance.
We are planning to hold a state conference every year to help NGO’s engaged in social service. This will help them to express their problems easily and solve them.
In continuation of this, an arrangement has been made to give awards to NGO’s and social activists engaged in social service every year.
We are planning to provide training and awareness to the NGO’s at the conference and district level on behalf of the Federation. We have also organized awards for best social service organizations and social workers.
OBJECTIVES
To Improve NGOs accessibility and presence at all levels of the State.
To Enhance the effective engagement of NGOs with the Government.
To Strengthen the dialogue between the Government and Non-governmental organizations.
To Engage NGOs to work together on issues of common interest of Education/ Capacity Development /Health / Environment / Awareness to Public.
To Provide guidance for NGO Management and Projects implementation.
To assist its members in protecting the legitimate social, economic, creative, national, cultural and other rights and interests of members of the Federation.
To unite NGOs in support of Human Rights, with particular emphasis on promoting : Human dignity, Tolerance, The Family Development, Religious freedom
To Enhance the capacity of small member organizations through training.
To Encourage gender proactive policies and programs in the best interest of the poor, the ethnic minority and various marginalized groups including the aged and the disabled.
To Collect and disseminate statistical and other information and make efforts for the spread of technical, economic and management knowledge to strengthen NGO activities in the country.
To Promote good practices, secular values and ethical standards amongst member NGOs to ensure transparency and fairness in the NGO sector.
